The completion of a two-phase project, within a busy ‘live’ multi-use public service building.
Phase one required the alterations and refurbishment to the existing facility to enable the relocation of day services to the first floor, the construction of meeting and break-out rooms for private booking, along with the extension of the existing library space through the conversion of the existing garage structure and adaption of the associated ancillary service corridor and storage rooms.
Phase two of the project involved the complete redecoration of the remainder of the library facility, along with new floor finishes, and the upgrade of lighting to more energy-efficient LED fittings. This phase was programmed to coincide with a planned two week closure period, in order to facilitate the temporary relocation of integrated IT and book
The works were undertaken to detailed design as a specification was developed by the client’s property services department, and executed under a JCT minor works contract.
